This website, www.asentechnology.com, is operated by ASEN ENTERPRISES LLC, doing business as Asen Technology. This policy covers the website and the Sienna text-message program, a personal program of Sean McManus. Questions: contact@asentechnology.com.

Sienna text messages

Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared, sold or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

What is collected

  • The owner's mobile number (Sean McManus is the only recipient).
  • The content of the messages exchanged with Sienna.
  • The record of consent: when the owner texted START to +1 805-617-1357, and any opt-out.

How it is used

Only to provide the assistant's replies and to honour opt-in and opt-out requests. Messages are processed by Sienna on servers Sean operates. The text-message provider and the wireless carriers handle the number only to deliver the messages.

Message history is kept only as long as it is useful to the assistant, and is deleted on request to contact@asentechnology.com.

Frequency, cost and opting out

Message frequency varies, up to 5 messages per day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Full details are on the program page and in the Terms.

The website

The site has no accounts, sign-up forms or advertising, and no personal information is sold. It collects the following:

  • Analytics. A self-hosted Matomo instance (analytics.asentechnology.com) records the pages you visit, the referring page, your browser and device type, and your IP address. Matomo may set first-party cookies to count repeat visits.
  • Chat assistant. Messages you type into the chat widget are sent to our server and to an AI model running on our own infrastructure to generate a reply. The conversation is held in server memory and discarded after 30 minutes of inactivity or 2 hours at most. Your IP address is used to rate-limit the chat. Your browser keeps the conversation in session storage until you close the tab. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the chat.
  • Server logs. Like most web servers, ours logs each request: IP address, time, page requested, referring page and browser type. These are used to run and secure the site.
  • Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers, which see your IP address.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. The site is not directed at children under 13.
